General Terms & Conditions for Drivers
Definitions
- “Acceptance” – The point in the booking process where you accept a booking.
- “App” – The CMS Driver App, available on Apple Store and Google Play, used by drivers to receive and manage bookings.
- “Booking” – A confirmed booking request following acceptance.
- “Customer” – A passenger using Barnes Cars London’s services.
- “Fare” – The amount a customer is charged for rides (plus any applicable fees).
- “PHV” – Private Hire Vehicles, including minicabs, executive cars, limousines, and chauffeur services.
- “Ride” – The journey completed by a driver for a customer.
- “Service” – Any services provided under these terms, including booking services and rides.
- “Transportation Services” – Rides carried out to fulfil customer bookings.
- “We”, “Us”, or “Our” – Barnes Cars London Ltd, registered in England and Wales.
- “You” – A licensed PHV driver engaged with Barnes Cars London.
- “Commission” – The payment you receive for each confirmed and completed ride.
1. Introduction
1.1. We are Barnes Cars London Ltd, a licensed private hire operator based in South West London.
1.2. As a licensed PHV operator, Barnes Cars London enters into a contractual obligation as principal with the passenger making the booking.
1.3. These Terms apply to your use of the CMS Driver App, through which you will receive and accept bookings.
1.4. You must read and accept these Terms before using the App.
1.5. By registering with us, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these Terms.
1.6. A copy of these Terms is available on our website at www.barnescarsltd.com or by email request to booking@barnescarsltd.com.
1.7. We may contact you by phone, SMS, or email using the details provided during registration.
2. The Booking Service
2.1. Barnes Cars London holds a valid TfL Private Hire Operator Licence, allowing us to accept bookings for PHVs.
2.2. Subject to compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited licence to use the CMS Driver App to receive and manage bookings.
2.3. To receive booking requests, you must:

Enable location services on your device.

Keep your driver status updated in the App.

Provide any other information we may request from time to time.
2.4. Booking requests are issued at our discretion; we do not guarantee minimum work.
2.5. You must respond to booking requests within the timeframe shown in the App.
2.6. Once a booking is accepted, details such as customer name and pickup location will be provided via the App.
3. Driver Obligations
Drivers must:

Be 21 years of age or older.

Hold a valid UK driving licence.

Hold a valid PHV driver’s licence and vehicle licence issued by TfL or another relevant authority.

Maintain valid MOT, insurance, and V5C log book.

Ensure vehicles are:

No older than 10 years.

Clean, roadworthy, safe, and compliant with UK emission standards.

Complete bookings with professionalism, care, and diligence.

Provide updated documents when requested.

Notify Barnes Cars London immediately in case of accidents, breakdowns, or emergencies (📞 Driver Emergency Line: 020 8876 6666).
4. Driver Conduct & Restrictions

Do not misuse the CMS Driver App or engage in fraudulent/unlawful activities.

Drivers are responsible for their own internet/data service and compatible devices.

Keep login credentials secure and report any unauthorized use immediately.

Do not share access to the App or customer details.

Customer data must only be used for completing bookings and handled in compliance with GDPR.
